After thousands of years of many cultures practicing the contemplative arts, Shinzen began a journey of cataloguing the world’s contemplative practices into a single system, which today is called Unified Mindfulness.

The amazing part of his journey of being a student, studying and teaching extensively, is that Unified Mindfulness (or as we like to call it “UM”) is also a science backed (neuroscience of course) meditation practice. He is working with neuroscientists to understand “this is your brain on meditation”.

We are years from it, but hacking enlightenment is no small undertaking.

This book is a fairly fast read and a great way to understand how these two worlds, science and enlightenment are shaking hands.
